UNO’s 9th Annual Carrera de los Muertos/Race of the Dead 5k will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 8:00am.
The Carrera de los Muertos/Race of the Dead 5k continues to grow every year! Last year’s race was sold out, with over 5,700 participants running through the colorful streets of Pilsen, Chicago’s most culturally rich and vibrant neighborhood.

You recently received a letter from Josephine Gomez from UCSN asking you to sign a petition to have CPS remove UNO from any involvement in the schools. Asking you to make such a decision without knowing the facts is not fair to you or your children. For months UCSN has been saying that the transition has been going smoothly. Now as it get closer to UCSN taking control of the schools, it is becoming evident that UCSN has mislead our community. The issues that are being reported now in the media are not new issues.

UNO Names New Chief of Staff to Focus on Developing Leadership as Part of Restructuring Strategy
UNO is pleased to announce Ms. Solskin Gómez-Krogh as UNO’s new Chief of Staff. Ms. Gómez-Krogh is a results focused leader with more than 14 years’ experience in leadership, relationship and program development as well as conflict management, among others. She is part of UNO’s restructuring and fits in with the organization’s continued growth strategy.

UNO Students Raise Over $11,000 for Mexico Relief after Hurricanes, Mudslides and Floods Ravage Villages
UNO is honored to report that through the generous donations of our UNO students, the UNO Charter School Network raised over $11,000 for Mexican Flood Relief!
UNO Students were challenged with a goal of raising $10,000 in two weeks in support of Mexican families, whose lives have been devastated by the natural disasters of hurricanes, followed by mudslides and floods. Many people have died and many more have been left homeless after two hurricanes devastated the coastal villages.
